The morning magic hour, this is a large 9 image wide panorama scenic at a colorful dawn of the City of Boulder Colorado and beyond. Boulder is at an elevation of 5,400 feet above sea-level, the city is located 30 miles northwest of the Colorado state capital of Denver.

Boulder is home to the main campus of the University of Colorado, the state’s largest university. In January 2010, Boulder was named one of the Top 25 Destinations in the U.S. according to TripAdvisor. Lonely Planet has named Boulder the #7 Top US Travel Destination for 2012. (December 2011). Boulder has nearly 100,000 residents including over 20,000 University of Colorado students. Since 2000, the city’s population has grown an average of 0.5% each year and is expected to grow to 118,500 by 2030. Boulder also home to one of IBM’s largest and greenest data centers in North America. Longs Peak is Colorado’s northernmost Fourteener. It’s the highest peak in Rocky Mountain National Park and Boulder County and the 15th highest peak in Colorado. It has one glacier-Mills Glacier. This remnant glacier of a once larger glacier that once encased the eastern side of the mountain in ice, lies at 12,800 feet below the East Face and above Chasm Lake.

Longs Peak is one of the 54 mountains with summits over 14,000 feet in Colorado.  It can be prominently seen from Longmont, Colorado, as well as from the rest of the Colorado Front Range.

Image number 24.  Bryce Canyon National Park is located in southwestern Utah, USA.  The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon, which is not a canyon but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. Water, ice, and gravity are the natural forces that formed the geological “hoodoos” that make Bryce Canyon unique. This park is named after Ebenezer Bryce, who started ranching the area in 1875. Upon showing the canyons to visitors, he is said to have remarked, “It’s a hell of a place to lose a cow.
