Horseshoe Over A Doorway Will Catch Good Luck

Rustic Old Colorado Barn Door and Window

This really got my attention the first time I saw it.  This rustic classic  door and window with a horse shoe above each is on a western old barn in a mining town, my guess from the late 1800?s. It’s located behind a friends saloon in the middle of the Colorado Rocky mountains about an hour south of the Buena Vista Colorado area.

Sepia Rustic Old Colorado Barn Door and Window

Sepia version

It is believed if a horseshoe is hung over a doorway, with ends up will catch good luck and ends down will let the good luck spill over the door and stop evil from entering.
